Lorenzo sets pace in FP1 in Jerez
Yamaha rider Jorge Lorenzo sets initial pace in home track Jerez, Spain in Free Practice 1.
The 2015 MotoGP season enters Europe for the 4th round with Valentino Rossi leading the championship table after 2 victories in Qatar and Argentina. Lorenzo after a dismal first 3races wants to bounce back into top contention and has started the attack in the first Free Practice of the day.
Championship leader Valentino Rossi (Yamaha) has clocked 6th fastest while World Champion Marc Marquez (Honda), riding with an injured little finger in his home race after a training accident clocked 8 fastest. The other spanish rider and team mate of Marquez, Dani Pedrosa is not racing this weekend as he is still recovering from an operation.
Aliex Espargaro (Suzuki), Cal Crutchlow (LCR Honda), Andrea Dovizioso (Ducati) and Pol Espargaro (Tech3 Yamaha) are in the top5.
Practice 2 will resume in few hours time while Qualifying will be on Saturday and the main race, The Spanish Grand Prix at Circuit de Jerez on Sunday
